CORANGMITE federal member Sarah Henderson has made one of her first local appearances representing her new ministerial portfolio, opening an aged care centre in Armstrong Creek with Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Ken Wyatt.
Ms Henderson – who was appointed Assistant Minister for Social Services, Housing and Disability Services as part of the leadership spill – and Mr Wyatt were among the guests at last week’s official opening of Warralily Gardens, operated by TLC Aged Care.
Victorian-based residential provider TLC Aged Care has unveiled Melbourne’s first high-rise aged care home Clifton Views in Fitzroy North.
The new nine-level facility in the inner-city that is a short distance to public transport, major hospitals, parks and the Melbourne CBD.
Bedrooms include king-single beds, built-in wardrobes, desks and wall-mounted televisions with Foxtel.
The facility features an on-site gym, hair and beauty salon, general practitioners, allied healthcare professionals and a medical centre available to both residents and the community.
Each level is equipped with its own lounge, dining area and view overlooking the Melbourne city skyline.
Billed by the private operator as Melbourne’s first dedicated high-rise aged care home, the $40 million development in Fitzroy North, 3km northeast of the CBD, will feature 123 beds plus an on-site medical centre with RADs ranging from $550,000 for a classic room up to $1,250,000 for the level 7 penthouse.
TLC has 12 aged care facilities built or in development across Victoria and has been working since 2015 to integrate ‘community healthcare hubs’ to provide medical services to residents and the wider community.
After three years of planning and construction, TLC Aged Care’s latest development is now open. Located in the heart of Fitzroy North, Clifton Views is Melbourne’s first high-rise residential aged care home. This iconic home is the first of its kind, offering sophisticated accommodation options, an on-site medical centre, and sweeping views of the Melbourne skyline. Clifton Views is also located within a short distance of public transport, the Eastern Freeway, major hospitals, parks and the Melbourne CBD.
